The IPOG Mission

    1. Distribute educational material and consensus statements

  • 2. Share and promote ideas to improve Pediatric ORL healthcare worldwide

  • 3. Provide a platform to connect the Pediatric Otolaryngology community worldwide

The mission of IPOG is to provide access to quality information pertaining to pediatric otolaryngology through the creation of guidelines and consensus statements. We aim to provide a framework to standardize the care and management of children with a wide spectrum of pathologies, working towards improved efficiency, improvement of care, and cost-saving through reduction of unnecessary resource utilization.

These consensus statements are the result of a group of specialists selected for their expertise on a particular subject sharing their clinical experience. Their contribution can help inform the ORL community of available treatment options, preferred managements strategies and gives perspective on how a particular pathology may be managed by expert colleagues. This knowledge is combined with the latest data from published literature to create recommendations and suggest treatment avenues. The list of available consensus statements is constantly growing and updated as we expand our base of contributors and new topics are suggested.

It is IPOG’s belief that practice guidelines cannot be static or stand-alone. Flexibility must be used to create a medical learning system that can collect, analyze, and learn from relevant data to allow for continuous revision and improvement.
